On January 19, Ambassador Xiao Junzheng met with the new leadership of the Israel-China Friendship Society to discuss the China-Israel and China–Jewish friendship.
Ambassador Xiao congratulated the new leadership on their appointments and expressed appreciation to the Society for its active contributions over the years in strengthening and developing ties between the peoples of the two countries. He also affirmed that the Chinese Embassy in Israel will work with the Society to further deepen China-Israel and China-Jewish friendship.
Chairman of the Society Gal Furer briefed the Society’s work plan for 2026, expressed gratitude for China’s sheltering of Jewish refugees during World War II, and stated that they will continue to work together with the Chinese Embassy and play a greater role in promoting people-to-people friendship between Israel and China.
