On September 19th, Ambassador Gao Yanping met with the Director of Government Press Office Mr. Oren Helman in Tel Aviv. Mr. Miao Deyu, Counselor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China was present.

Ambassador Gao said that Chinese people and Jewish people share a long history of friendship. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, friendly relations of cooperation between the two sides have made significant progress in various fields. 2012 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Israel. Media from both countries will have an opportunity to play significant roles in the series of commemorative events. Ambassador Gao sincerely hopes that the Government Press Office could guide Israeli media to participate in the commemorative events to be held next year, contributing to the further enhancement of mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

Mr. Helman warmly welcomed Ambassador Gao's arrival and introduced the main responsibilities of the Government Press Office. He also expressed willingness from the Israeli side to strengthen cooperation with Chinese side. He said he was ready to make further exchange of views with Ambassador Gao on how to further promote the cooperation between Chinese and Israeli media.
