Today is the first day that I take post in Israel. As an ambassador appointed by President Xi Jinping, I will live up to my mission, carry out my duty with diligence and fortitude, and dedicate my efforts in a way that the Chinese modernization will receive more echoes and attract more friends in Israel. Being the frontliner in China-Israel mutually beneficial cooperation, I will attain to the broad and great while addressing the delicate and minute, to try to explore new practices in China-Israel relations in the process of implementing the spirit of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. As the guardian for all Chinese institutions and overseas Chinese in Israel, I set myself requirements to be down-to-earth and heed public opinions, making the utmost effort to safeguard their legitimate rights and interests.

    The Chinese and Jewish people each possess a time-honored history and a splendid civilization. In 1992, China and Israel officially established diplomatic relations, opening up a new chapter of friendly exchanges between the two countries and peoples. In 2017, China and Israel established the Innovative Comprehensive Partnership, which set long-term goals and strategic guidance for the development of bilateral relations.

    Today, China is advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through the Chinese path to modernization. China will stay committed to building a community with a shared future for mankind, and work in joint hands with other countries in delivering on the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative, advocating an equal-footed and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization. China’s new development will bring new opportunities to the growth and prosperity of the world, and open up more possibilities for the long-term development of China-Israel relations.

    The current regional situation is complicated and sensitive with growing spill-over effects. In the meantime, efforts to promote peace are never given up, and peace will be eventually embraced. I’d like to say a few words in particular to the Chinese institutions and personnel in Israel and to all the friends who care about China-Israel relations: Safety is fundamental. Please stay away from conflicting areas. Always keep in mind that safety comes from caution over the minute details, and that prevention is better than cure. Keep committed to your duty and work. With the special situation, as you run businesses and work in legitimate manners, and as you do schoolwork with diligence, you are not only making achievements in life, but also sending signals of friendliness to the local people around you. Cast the eyesight to the distance while watching out stones on the road. China’s opening up has no past tense and reforms are always on the road. It is the internal logic of Chinese modernization, which will not be altered by the complicated external environment. It will definitely cultivate new opportunities in China-Israel practical cooperation.

    Let us work together for a more vigorous, resilient, colorful and fruitful bilateral relationship.
