Israeli Deputy Prime Minister & Defense Minister
On November 10th, Ambassador Gao Yanping and her husband hosted a dinner in her residence for Mr. & Mrs. Ehud Barak, the Israeli Deputy Prime Minister & Defense Minister.
Deputy Prime Minster Barak extended his warm welcome to Ambassador Gao for her assumption of the new post. He recalled his successful visit to China in this June, and said that he was deeply impressed by the tremendous development achieved by China over the recent years. Both as diligent, courageous and wise peoples, the Jewish and Chinese have cherished a long history of friendship. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and China in 1992, bilateral cooperation has been constantly expanding and deepening. The Israeli government would adopt all possible measures to continuously boost the Sino-Israel relations.
Ambassador Gao expressed her gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for attending the Reception for celebrating the 62nd Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and commemorating her arrival at Israel. She said the pragmatic cooperation between China and Israel has witnessed great achievements with the joint efforts of the two governments. She hopes both sides could seize the opportunity of the incoming 20th anniversary for the establishment of diplomatic relations to widen and deepen the pragmatic cooperation and enhance the bilateral relations to a new level.
Ambassador Gao and Deputy Prime Minister Barak also exchanged views on other issues of mutual concern.
