On February 14, Ambassador Xiao Junzheng attended the Chinese New Year Festival and Annual Scholarship Award Ceremony held by the Israel China Friendship Society (ICFS) and delivered a speech. Over 100 participants attended the event, including Mr.Gal Furer, Chairman of the ICFS; DCM and Minister counsellor Liu Song, Minister Counsellor Sun Zhaoyang and other diplomats of the Chinese Embassy and representatives of Israeli friends, Chinese compatriots and award-winning students.

Ambassador Xiao Junzheng stated that the year of 2025 was an extraordinary year, in which China has fulfilled the objectives of the 14th Five-Year Plan with comprehensive national strength reaching a new high and China-Israel practical cooperation scoring tremendous achievements. ICFS has made important contributions to consolidating and developing friendly relations between the two peoples. He congratulated the award-winning students and encouraged them to carry forward the traditional friendship, promote exchanges between the two great civilizations and contribute to further improving China-Israel relations. 

Mr. Furer highly appreciated the efforts by Ambassador Xiao and the Chinese Embassy to promote relations between the two countries and then made a presentation on the culture and customs of the Chinese New Year. Everyone present joyfully took part in making Jiaozi (dumplings) , posting New Year Couplets, painting New Year pictures and appreciated traditional Chinese songs and dances.
