Chinese Embassy in Israel Hosts 2026 Chinese New Year’s Reception

On 4 February 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Israel hosted the New Year reception to celebrate the Spring Festival. Israeli Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana delivered a video message, and Chinese Ambassador to Israel Xiao Junzheng addressed the event. The event was attended by over 300 guests, including representatives from various sectors in Israel, members of the Chinese community, and Chinese business and student representatives.

Speaker Ohana conveyed his New Year greetings to the Chinese community in Israel in a video message. Ambassador Xiao extended New Year greetings to all the guests. He said that in 2025, President Xi Jinping solemnly proposed the Global Governance Initiative to the international community, China successfully concluded its 14th Five-Year Plan, and practical cooperation between China and Israel yielded fruitful results, benefiting both peoples. He said that 2026 marks the opening year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, with the China-Israel innovative comprehensive partnership embracing new opportunities. The Chinese side looks forward to working with friends from all sectors in Israel to further elevate bilateral friendship and practical cooperation between the two nations.

The reception was held in a warm and festive atmosphere. Performances by Changzhou Opera and Dance Theatre and Changzhou Xiju Opera Theatre drew rounds of applause. The “Chinese Book Corner” and decorations featuring the Year of the Horse at the venue showcased China’s stunning landscapes, development achievements and rich history and culture, attracting guests to experience the distinctive charm of Chinese culture.
