On 24 December 2024, Ambassador Xiao Junzheng visited the Haifa Bayport operated by SIPG (Shanghai International Port Group) Bayport Terminal. Mr. Yong Zifeng, Vice President of Commercial Operations, provided an introduction of the company and the Haifa Bayport. Minister Counsellor Zhang Xingfu from the Embassy was present.

During the visit, Ambassador Xiao commended the company for effectively managing various risks and challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing conflicts. He noted that SIPG Bayport had successfully maintained its operations and avoided staff layoffs, while actively exploring new avenues for enhanced cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations between China and Israel. Ambassador Xiao expressed hope that the company would continue to uphold its social responsibilities and contribute positively to the stable development of China-Israel relations.

Additionally, Ambassador Xiao toured the central control room, container yards, and tower cranes at the Bayport, engaging in discussions with local employees throughout the visit.
