On May 10, The Jerusalem Post published an anti-China article written by a “Xinjiang independence” separatist. In response, the spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in Israel expressed firm opposition and strong condemnation in his letter to Mr. Katz, editor-in-chief of the Post. The content of the letter is as follows:

On May 10, The Jerusalem Post published an anti-China article written by a “Xinjiang independence” separatist, for which we express firm opposition and strong condemnation.

We firmly oppose and strongly condemn that the Post, in disregard of the fact that Xinjiang is an inalienable part of the Chinese territory, served as a platform for “Xinjiang independence” separatists by publishing their anti-China article.

We firmly oppose and strongly condemn that the “Xinjiang independence” separatists and anti-China forces distort facts, make and spread numerous Xinjiang-related lies and rumors to interfere with China’s internal affairs, and to destabilize Xinjiang and then the whole of China.

We firmly oppose and strongly condemn that the “Xinjiang independence” separatists and anti-China forces are using Xinjiang as a pretext to drive a wedge between China and Israel, trying to undermine the good momentum of China-Israel relations.

Here we solemnly warn those “Xinjiang independence” separatists and anti-China forces: all your ill-intentioned attempts -- interfering in China’s internal affairs, destabilizing Xinjiang and then the whole of China -- are doomed to fail. Xinjiang’s future will only be brighter. China’s future will only be brighter. The future of China-Israel relations will only be brighter. It is an overriding trend that will not be stopped by any forces.
