Chinese Embassy in Israel Hosts Lunar New Year Event at the Knesset

On 3 February 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Israel hosted a Lunar New Yearevent at the Knesset. Nearly 100 guests attended, including senior Israeli government officials, members of the Knesset, and representatives from various sectors.

Speaker Amir Ohana conveyed his New Year greetings to Chinese people around the world through a video message, in which he expressed wishes for deepening the friendly relations between the Israeli and the Chinese people.

Ambassador Xiao Junzheng delivered aspeech outlining the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Global Civilization Initiative. He also expressed China’s willingness to strengthen cooperation with Israel to jointly promote the sound and steady development of the China-Israel Innovative Comprehensive Partnership.

In her remarks, Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel stated that Israel attaches great importance to its relations with China and that bilateral cooperation across various fields has yielded fruitful results. Noting that the horse symbolizes strength, determination and progress in Chinese culture, she expressed confidence that Israel-China relations would achieve further development in the yearof the horse.

MK Dr. Akram Hasson chaired the event and several members of the Knessetdelivered remarks. They expressed admiration for the richness and appeal of traditional Chinese culture and conveyed their willingness to contribute to the development of bilateral relations.

Artists from Changzhou Opera and Dance Theatre and Changzhou Xiju Opera Theatre presented cultural performances showcasing China’s fine traditional cultureat the event, which was warmly applauded by the audience.
