On 6 January 2026, Ambassador Xiao Junzheng met with Yinon Aharoni, Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs. The two sides exchanged views on promoting China-Israel welfare and social affairs cooperation. Ambassador Xiao also elaborated on China’s position on the Taiwan question. Director General Aharoni stated that he understands and respects China’s position and concerns, and fully recognizes the importance of the one-China principle.
