On January 2, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Israel organized a Spring Festival Walking event in Tel Aviv. Ambassador Xiao Junzheng led all embassy staff and extended invitations to representatives from Chinese enterprises, overseas Chinese, Chinese students, as well as members of the Israel-China Friendship Society and the Association of Former Residents of China in Israel. A total of more than 170 individuals participated in the event.

Ambassador Xiao Junzheng stated that in 2025, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, Chinese modernization has taken steady steps on the new journey. The year 2026 marks the beginning of the 15th Five-Year Plan. The vast number of Chinese compatriots in Israel will "charge ahead like horses with courage, vitality, and energy." By uniting efforts, overcoming challenges, we can jointly create a new chapter in China-Israel exchanges and cooperation.

The walking event unfolded along the beautiful Yarkon River, starting from its estuary and extending all the way to the China Cultural Center in Tel Aviv, covering a total distance of eight kilometers. Along the way, participants not only enjoyed the scenic views but also engaged in lively conversations about the development of their homeland, the progress of their hometowns, local customs and culture, as well as the prospects of China-Israel cooperation. The camera captured beaming smiles, reflecting the deep affection of all participants for their motherland and their optimism for the future. Everyone expressed that the walking event provided a good workout, allowed them to make new friends, strengthened friendships, and boosted morale. In the new year, they pledged to keep their homeland close to heart, and continue contributing fresh energy to national development and China-Israel cooperation.
