Ambassador Gao Yanping Meets with Head of the National Economic Council of Israel

On June 27th, 2013, Ambassador Gao Yanping met with Professor Eugene Kandel, head of the National Economic Council of Israel and chairman of Inter-Ministerial Committee in Tel Aviv. Diplomats from  Political Section, Commercial Section and Scientific and Technological Section of the Embassy of China, and Mr. Netanel Oded, economist of the National Economic Council, were present.

Ambassador Gao said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent visit to China injected new impetus to the development of Sino-Israeli relations, and bilateral pragmatic cooperation in various fields is facing unprecedented opportunities. Ambassador Gao hopes the two sides could make joint efforts to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries and promote the follow-up pragmatic cooperation between the two countries to a higher level. Ambassador Gao also introduced the core and essence of the Chinese Dream, stressed that the Chinese Dream is the dream of the country, of the nation and of the people, which is not only beneficial to Chinese people, but also beneficial to the Sino-Israeli cooperation. Ambassador Gao stressed the Chinese side is ready to make joint efforts with the Israeli side to achieve win-win situation and mutual development.

Professor Kandel spoke highly of the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries during Prime Minister Netanyahu's visit to China. He stressed that the Israeli government attaches great importance to Israeli-Sino relations and China's important international status and influence, and has established two Ministerial Committee and Inter-Ministerial Committee to translate the agreement reached by the two sides into concrete steps. He said he was looking forward to visiting China in the near future as head of the National Economic Council of Israel and chairman of Inter-Ministerial Committee, exchanging in-depth views with the Chinese side on the implementation of the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries to deepen Israeli-China cooperation, and launching the cooperation mechanism between the two governments as early as possible. Professor Kandel also said the Israeli side hopes to seize the opportunities Chinese Dream brings to Israel and the whole world to further develop the Israeli-China friendly and cooperative relations for the benefit of the two peoples.
