Ambassador Gao Yanping Attends the WATEC Seminar

On November 15th, 2011, Ambassador Gao Yanping was invited to attend the "Israel-China Cooperation in Water and Environmental Technologies Seminar" at WATEC 2011, held by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor of Israel(MOITAL) and the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute(IEI). More than 200 people were present, including Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Israel Mr. Hu Ming, Director General of MOITAL Mr. Sharon Kedmi, Deputy Director General of the Israeli Export and International Cooperation Institute Mr. Lior Konitzki as well as government officials, entrepreneurs, scholoars and experts from both countries. Ambassador Gao also witnessed the signing of Water Cooperation Agreement between MOITAL and Tianjin Water Authority.

Ambassador Gao was the first to deliver the opening remarks. She said that Israel had been in the leading position in developing and promoting water technology, while China had abundant human resources and tremendous market potential. China and Israel could complement each other's advantages and have broad prospects of cooperation. The practical cooperation of both sides could lead to the growth of trade, investment, create more jobs and bring more substantial benefits to the people of the two countries. She hoped that people from China and Israel could take the chance of the healthy and steady development of the relations of the two countries so as to learn from each other, develop with each other and strengthen the communication and cooperation in the field of water technologies.

Director General of MOITAL Mr. kedmi and Vice Director General of IEI Mr. Konitzki delivered speeches at the seminar respectively. They introduced to the audience the latest development and experience of water technology in Israel, indicating that China and Israel had huge potential of cooperation, which was in the interests of both countries. They hoped Chinese businessmen could know more about Israel and both sides could conduct more activities for cooperation and communication in the field of water technology and renewable energy.

The sixth International Exhibition and the Third International Conference on Water Technologies, Renewable Energy and Environmental Control (WATEC 2011) was held on 15th -17th of November, 2011 at the Israel Trade Fairs&Convention Center in Tel Aviv. WATEC is held every two years, and is known as one of the most important global events in the area of water technologies, renewable energy and environmental control.
