Wang Yi Meets with Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai

On September 23, 2022 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Wang Yi said, this year marks the 10th anniversary of the China-Thailand comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. The two countries agreed to work toward the goal and vision of building a community with a shared future, further enrich the relationship that China and Thailand are as close as one family in keeping with the times, and usher in a more stable, prosperous and sustainable future of bilateral relations.

Wang Yi said, China supports Thailand to play its role as the host of this year's APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, making it a success, ensuring that the meeting focuses on the Asia-Pacific and the economy, adhering to the goal of the Asia-Pacific free trade area, promoting regional recovery, responding to pressing challenges in solidarity, sending Asia's message and making Asian contribution to the building of the Asia-Pacific community.

Don wishes the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China a full success. He said that the Thai side is satisfied with the smooth progress of Thailand-China cooperation in various fields. Thailand supports the Global Development Initiative and looks forward to strengthening coordination with China to make this year's APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting a success.

The two sides agreed to speed up the "soft connectivity" of railway, logistics and customs clearance and the "hard connectivity" of infrastructure, so as to inject strong impetus into bilateral practical cooperation and regional connectivity.
