On 1st July 2025, Ambassador Xiao Junzheng led a team to the northern Israeli city of Kiryat to visit the Bialik plot 354 housing project, undertaken by Jiangsu Shuntong Construction Group, and the Bialik plot 412 housing project, undertaken by Longxin Construction Group. He received briefings on the safety protection status of project construction. Minister Counsellor Zhang Xingfu from the Chinese Embassy also joined the visit.

Xiao conducted on-site inspections on the safety equipment installations and the implementation of safety measures at the project site, expressing full affirmation for the companies’ enhanced safety protocols, such as ‌pre-installing safety facilities during construction processes by prioritizing the installation and operational use of doors and windows for shelter rooms on every floor and ‌setting up mobile safety shelters in open areas‌. Xiao noted that during the Israel-Iran conflict, Chinese companies in Israel reduced and evacuated non-essential personnel, and implemented strict measures to ensure air defense security on site, which is a full demonstration of their due responsibility.

Xiao emphasized that ‌safety is always the lifeline‌ for Chinese companies undertaking all types of projects in Israel. Company executives must ‌foster a firm philosophy prioritizing human life‌, placing the safety of construction workers at the forefront, strictly adhere to local air defense security standards and protective measures during conflicts. Chinese companies in Israel should conduct exchanges of experience on construction safety through platforms such as the Chinese Enterprises Association in Israel. It is imperative to strengthen safety education and management, ‌enhancing workers’ safety awareness.
