On 28 April 2025, Chinese Ambassador Xiao Junzheng visited Tel Aviv University (TAU), exchanging views with President Ariel Porat and Vice President Milette Shamir on strengthening cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research and cultural exchanges between China and Israel.

President Porat offered a comprehensive introduction of TAU and its main achievements in academic exchanges with China. He expressed his hope for further cooperation with the Chinese side. 

Ambassador Xiao also visited the Department of Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Cultures of TAU.
