On 24 February 2025, Chinese Ambassador Xiao Junzheng visited three exemplary agricultural bases in central Israel. He exchanged views with agricultural expert Omar and relevant management teams on planting techniques, mechanized production, agricultural supply chain management, and market trends. Minister Counsellor Qin Weidong from the Embassy also participated in the activities.
At the Gali Moshe packaging facility in Even Yehuda, Ambassador Xiao received a briefing from company manager Liat on operational details and observed the mechanized processes for potato cleaning, sorting, packaging, and cold-chain storage.
Subsequently, Ambassador Xiao visited Yanai Company’s new nursery base in Hogla, which features a 5-hectare automated greenhouse system. Company director Yanai made an introduction of robotic equipment and intelligent processes for breeding, transplanting, and maintenance.
At Shimshon Hai Farm in Ahituv, Mr. Omar presented a suspended three-dimensional strawberry cultivation system. This innovation enhances yield and fruit quality through space-efficient design and precision water-fertilizer management, while reducing labor intensity by enabling farmers to use small-scale machinery for tasks like fertilization and harvesting.
Ambassador Xiao stated, "The friendship between the Chinese and Israeli peoples is rooted in long-standing historical bonds, and agricultural technology cooperation holds vast potential. We look forward to more fruitful outcomes between China and Israel."
