On March 4, 2025, Ambassador Xiao Junzheng paid a special visit to the headquarter of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) to lay a wreath for Lt. Colonel Du Zhaoyu, a Chinese military observer fallen in a UN peacekeeping operation.

Afterwards, Ambassador Xiao met with Major General Patrick Gauchat, Head of Mission and Chief of Staff of the UNTSO. The two sides exchanged views on UNTSO’s operations and the current regional situation.
